not your peeps but the poor

Luke 14:12-14 ESV He said also to the man who had invited him, "When you give a dinner or a banquet, do not invite your friends or your brothers or your relatives or rich neighbors, lest they also invite you in return and you be repaid. 13 But when you give a feast, invite the poor, the crippled, the lame, the blind, 14 and you will be blessed, because they cannot repay you. For you will be repaid at the resurrection of the just."

I love Church people and I love doing things with other Christians, but we need to spend time with the spritually poor just as much so the can be redeemed by Christ.

I think its very easy to have a church be too inward focused. I'm with you- the church needs to be teaching, nurturing and growing its people, Amen! However, i also think we need to be meeting non-Christians wherever they are...How will they be saved if they have not heard.

Chris, I totally agree. Our church is going to be focusing in 2009 on being the church outside our walls. If we ceased to exist, would the lost world miss us?
